Electricity
Electricity is the phenomenon due to the behavior of protons and electrons by the attraction between particles of opposite charges and the repulsion of same charges. It is also known as property of material due to the movement of electric charge. It is responsible for electric fields, electric currents, lightning etc.
Electricity is related to several related concepts
Electric charge is the fundamental property of subatomic particles which determines electromagnetic interactions. There are two types of charges negative and positive. Particles of opposite charges attract towards each other and particles of same charges cause repulsion. Unit of electric current is Ohm.
Electric field
It is the field generated due to flow of electric current between two bodies. It was introduced by Michael Faraday. It depends upon the electric charges of two bodies. Force is repulsive if charges are of same size and attractive if charges are of different size. The magnitude of the force varies inversely with the square of the distance and proportional to the product of the unsigned magnitudes of the two charges.
Electric potential
Electric potential is the difference of potential between two bodies that is work done per unit charge. Measuring unit of potential is Volts. Take one point as the reference point with zero potential then electric potential is defined as work done per unit charge in moving a positive point charge from that reference point to the point at which the potential is to be determined.
