Electrical discipline deals with the study and application of electricity, electromagnetism, and electronics. It also covers the range of sub disciplines like power, control systems, and telecommunications. It is totally different from electronics field. Electrical is dealing with the problems related with large-scale electrical systems like motor control and power transmission.

Electrical stream consists of technologies from global positioning system to electric power generation. People who are from electrical are responsible to design, develop, test and supervise the deployment of electrical systems and electronic devices. They may work on electric power stations, telecommunication systems, wiring and lighting etc.

Working conditions for electricians depend upon the sits on which they are working. They work both in indoors, out, homes, construction sites, factories etc. most electricians work a standard 40 to 45 hours per week. Shift may be day shift or night shift. Companies that operate 24 hours a day may employ three shifts of electricians.
